25. RECOGNITION OF RICHARD LEARY, GENERAL MANAGER, YORK REGION TRANSIT
On behalf of Regional Council, Regional Chair Fisch congratulated Richard Leary and wished him the best of luck on his appointment to the position of Chief Service Officer with the Toronto Transit Commission.
Regional Chair Fisch praised Mr. Leary as a valuable member of the York Region team. Under Mr. Leary’s leadership over the last five years, the Region's transit system has expanded to 23 million riders per year and seen continued improvement in on-time performance, reliability and quality service.
On behalf of Regional Council, Regional Chair Fisch thanked Mr. Leary for his excellent leadership, his commitment to the residents across York Region, and his overall contribution to the success of York Region Transit.
