Improvements are coming to Warden Avenue
Transportation improvements prepare York Region to meet the needs of motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users today and into the future. York Region is making improvements to Warden Avenue.
Duration: Early October 2024 to November 2024
Road improvements
- Initial work includes concrete repairs
- Once complete, a road preservation treatment, called microsurfacing, will be applied to Warden Avenue
- Microsurfacing is a common and cost-effective way to maintain roads with minor defects and extends the road’s life
- Road surfaces can feel rougher and sound noisier after treatment, but over time, stone will settle and surfaces will become quieter
Impacts to travellers:
Lane closures are limited to:
- Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- The road will remain open to through traffic; however, lane closures are required
- Access to homes and businesses may be temporarily disrupted
As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible.
