Notice of Completion - Ballantrae-Musselman Lake Long-Term Water Supply
The Regional Municipality of York has completed a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) study to establish the preferred solution to provide long-term water supply and storage for the Ballantrae-Musselman Lake area in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
As a result of the study, York Region has identified the preferred solution to increase the water taking from 4,580 m3/day to 5,420 m3/day by using the existing wells.
This Notice places the Project File on public record for review and comment for 30 calendar days from January 21, 2019 through to February 20, 2019. The Project File is available for public review on york.ca/ea, and a copy is available at the following locations during regular business hours:

A previous Notice of Completion for this study was issued on October 5, 2017. Following technical comments provided by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, the previous Notice of Completion was withdrawn and the Project File was amended. The current recommendations have not changed, but some additional monitoring and mitigation measures are proposed.

If concerns cannot be resolved through discussions with York Region, a person may request the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks to issue an order for the project to comply with Part II of the Environmental Assessment Act. A Part II Order Request must be received by the Minister at the address below no later than February 20, 2019.
