Local Immigration Partnership Social Integration Events
York Region’s Local Immigration Partnership (LIP) is dedicated to making the Region a welcoming place for everyone who chooses to move into our communities.
LIP has hosted virtual webinars to help increase awareness of, and access to, the programs and services available to newcomers in York Region. The webinars provide newcomers with information and tools to support their settlement in the Region.

Welcome Centres
In York Region, five accessible service hub centres known as Welcome Centres help immigrants settle and integrate into Canada. Welcome Centres may provide services in languages other than English. Welcome Centres are located along popular public transit routes and provide a range of settlement related services and information to newcomers under one roof, including transit assistance, settlement services, employment supports, Accreditation Qualification and Information Services (AQIS), language interpretation supports, e-learning language classes, enhanced language training.
