Compliance Audit Committee
The Municipal Elections Act, 1996 requires each municipality to establish a compliance audit committee. The Committee is responsible for considering applications from eligible electors that believe, on reasonable grounds, that a candidate has contravened a provision of the Act relating to election campaign finances.

Requests for a Compliance Audit
Any eligible elector who believes on reasonable grounds that a candidate has contravened one or more of the election finance rules in the Municipal Elections Act may submit an application for a compliance audit of the candidate’s campaign finances.
To request a compliance audit, you must complete this Request for Compliance Audit form and submit it to the Regional Clerk by:

June 27, 2019, for a candidate who filed their financial statement by 2 p.m. on March 29, 2019;
-
Within 90 days of the date on which a candidate filed their financial statement if the statement was filed within 30 days of March 29, 2019; or
-
December 27, 2019 for a compliance audit of a candidate who filed a supplementary financial statement (if applicable).
