Internationally Trained Professionals
York Region tries to recruit foreign trained professionals to improve our productivity and the effectiveness of our service delivery. We were selected as one of the Best Employers for New Canadians for 2011, 2012 and 2013. Through our partnerships with Career Bridge, the Professional Access and Integration Enhancement Program (PAIE), Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC), COSTI Immigrant Services, World Education Services (WES) and participating School Boards, we have successfully hired foreign trained new Canadians in hard-to-fill occupations like engineering, planning and nursing.
