Road Closures

Road closures and lane restrictions are sometimes necessary to complete emergency repairs and planned road improvement projects. York Region is committed to re-opening roads as quickly as possible so traffic flow can return to normal.

Markham	Yonge Street and John Street - Temporary left turn restrictions	Restrictions have been extended until Saturday, November 30, 2024. Southbound and westbound left turn restrictions will continue daily Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.	To accommodate lane closures for hydro work led by the Region’s contractor for the Yonge North Subway Extension (YNSE) project
Richmond Hill	Stouffville Road will be closed between Bayview Avenue and Leslie Street	Friday, October 4, 2024 to Friday, November 29, 2024, between the hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Closures will only occur during rain events when salamanders complete their migration.	To ensure the safe crossing of the endangered Jefferson Salamanders
