Request Environmental Site Assessment Data for a Property
York Region offers historical records of sewer use and water resource data upon request for Phase One Environmental Site Assessments (ESA). This service identifies relevant data about a specific property. For example:
- Is the property currently monitored for sewer use bylaw purposes or had past violations?
- Have there been any reported spills at the property?
- Is the property located in a drinking water source protection area of concern?
Eligibility
Environmental Site Assessment data requests may only be made for properties located within York Region and may be requested by land developers, consultants, lawyers and residents.
How to Make a Request
Fill out the Sample Data Request Letter Template and email it to sewerusebylaw@york.ca. Requests must include municipal address(es) for all properties in question.
Fees
There is a fee for each property requested.

Once your request has been received via email, York Region will contact you to process payment via credit card. Other forms of payment may be accepted upon request.
What to expect after submitting a request
Once you submit a request via email, York Region will contact you within one to two business days to confirm receipt of request and provide information about processing payment. Once payment has been processed, you will receive any available data about the property generally within 10 business days.
