You are responsible for paying the Total Payable Amount which includes a Victim Fine Surcharge and court costs, within the time period indicated on the ticket or instructed by the Justice of Peace.
A Victim Fine Surcharge is collected by the Courts and paid to Ontario Victim Services to assist victims of crime through the delivery of programs and services in our communities.
Beware of scams: Fraudulent text and telephone messages claiming to be from an Ontario Provincial Court regarding unpaid fines have been reported. The only accepted online payment platform used by the Provincial Offences Court is paytickets.ca
How to pay your ticket
You can pay the total payable amount indicated on your ticket, including traffic tickets, online, by phone, in person or by mail.
If you want to make a partial payment, you can make a payment on the phone, in person or by mail. Partial payments cannot be made online.
Online
To pay your ticket online, begin by selecting the Pay a Ticket or Fine button below.
You will be prompted to:
- Identify who you are paying by selecting the location that matches the location code on your ticket. The location code is the first four digits of the offence number.
- The Newmarket Location Code is 4960
- Indicate if you are paying a Provincial Offences Act (POA) ticket, Unpaid Fine, Final Notice, Red Light Camera ticket (RLC) or Automated Speed Enforcement ticket (ASE)
- Enter the offence number
- Follow the remaining prompts to provide payment details and finalize the payment
Please note: Only payments by credit card will be accepted online. Visa-Debit and Mastercard-Debit payments are accepted in-person and by phone. Debit card payments must be made in person. Paytickets.ca charges an additional fee up to $3.00 for their services.
It may take three to seven days from the day you receive your ticket for it to be available for online payment.

By phone
Court users can now make payments on tickets issued in York Region by calling our court offices. Credit, Visa-Debit and Mastercard- Debit payments will be accepted. Debit card payments must be made in person.
You require:
- Information from your ticket including the location code, offence number and date of deemed service
- Note: Payments can only be made after the date of deemed service for Red Light Camera (RLC) tickets and Automatic Speed Enforcement (ASE)
- Payment details including your card number, CVD (3-digits on the back of the card) and expiry date

To pay by mail, you may send payment by a Pre-Authorized Payment Form, Money Order, or Cheque to the court identified on your notice.

Please note, this form authorizes York Region to charge your credit card one time only. If a payment plan has been arranged, the form must be completed monthly.

Parking Infraction Notices (also called Parking Tickets)
If you have received a Parking Infraction Notice, also called a parking ticket. please select the municipality below noted on the back of your ticket for additional information.

*If you have received a Notice of Fine and Due Date (Unpaid Fine) from Aurora, East Gwillimbury, King or Whitchurch-Stouffville municipalities as noted above, you can pay the parking fines at any provincial court office in-person or by calling the Newmarket court office.
If your licence is suspended
If you have fines issued after May 1, 2010, you may pay the total fine and reinstatement fee at a Service Ontario location. You will then be able to activate your driver’s licence the same day if there are no other outstanding requirements or restrictions.
If you have fines issued prior to May 1, 2010, you are required to make a payment at a Provincial Offences Court. After paying your fine, it will take between three and five days before you can visit a Service Ontario location to pay your licence reinstatement fee and activate your licence if there are no other outstanding requirements or restrictions.
If making a payment online please note that it may take up to 10 days before you are able to attend a Service Ontario location to pay the reinstatement fee.

I have very old fines; do I still have to pay them?
Court-ordered fines remain owing until paid. Even if your fine is old or you have claimed bankruptcy, you are still responsible for paying outstanding fines in full.
At any time, the court may apply enforcement actions including licence suspension and garnishment of wages until the fine is no longer outstanding.
I need more time to pay my fine or I have a defaulted fine
If you need more time to pay your court-ordered fine, obtain a Motion for Extension of Time to Pay the Fine form online or from any Provincial Offences Court office. You can submit the completed form through email to @email, by mail or by delivering it in person to the address on the ticket. Walk-ins are welcome, however appointments are encouraged to avoid long wait times. The application will be considered by the Clerk of the Court. It is your responsibility to contact the court office within two weeks to determine if the extension was granted.
A defaulted fine is a fine that has not been paid by its due date as indicated in the Notice of Fine and Due Date. Please pay your defaulted fine as soon as possible.
