Regional Councillor Di Biase declared an interest in Clause 5 regarding New GO Stations in York Region to Support Regional Express Rail, due to his children owning land near the Kirby GO Station, and did not take part in the discussion of or vote on this item.

Other Business
14. Live Streaming – Committee of the Whole Meetings
Regional Chair Emmerson reminded Members of Committee that, effective today, York Region would be live streaming the Committee of the Whole meetings. This includes the ability to view the presentations.
15. Joint Report - “Understanding the Numbers – Working Together to Prevent, Reduce and End Homelessness in York Region”
Regional Chair Emmerson advised that the official release of the joint report between The Regional Municipality of York and United Way of Toronto & York Region entitled “Understanding the Numbers – Working Together to Prevent, Reduce and End Homelessness in York Region” would take place on October 20, 2016 at 8:15 a.m. in the Seminar Room.
16. City of Markham Forum regarding Affordable Housing, Transportation and Seniors
Regional Councillor Armstrong congratulated York Region staff on their excellent presentation and representation at the recent Annual Forum held in Markham on the topics of affordable housing, transportation and seniors.
17. York Region Governance Review / Election of Regional Chair
Regional Chair Emmerson advised that a report regarding the York Region Governance Review will be on the agenda for the October 13, 2016 Committee of the Whole meeting. The Regional Chair also advised that the Province is considering new legislation regarding the election of Regional Chairs across Ontario.
18. Smart Track
Mayor Bevilacqua congratulated Regional Councillor Jim Jones on his hard work and perseverance pertaining to Smart Track.
19. Viva Rapidway Grand Opening - Davis Drive
Regional Chair Emmerson advised that the grand opening of the Viva Rapidway on Davis Drive will take place at 10 a.m. on October 7, 2016.
20. Council Education Workshop – October 20, 2016
Regional Chair Emmerson reminded Members of Committee that a Council Education Workshop regarding the Development Charges Bylaw is scheduled for October 20, 2016 beginning immediately following the Regional Council meeting.
