York Region recognizes Bell Let’s Talk Day
York Regional Council and The Regional Municipality of York recognize Wednesday, January 24, 2024, as Bell Let’s Talk Day and acknowledge the importance of raising awareness around mental health all year long.
The 2024 theme, Let’s talk about creating real change, highlights the critical importance of mental well-being and the need to have real and meaningful conversations to end the stigma associated with mental health.
In 2010, Bell launched this initiative with a focus on building awareness, acceptance and action in mental health. The annual event has helped more than 1,500 organizations support 6.9 million Canadians with access to mental health services. More importantly, the initiative has helped to create a national conversation about mental health, leading to meaningful and positive change.
Participating in Bell Let’s Talk Day is one step in our collective efforts to raise awareness and funding for important mental health initiatives. Visit letstalkbell.ca to learn more about how to engage in conversations, nurture your own well-being and support the health of our communities.
I encourage all York Region residents to take the time today, and every day, to reach out to friends and loved ones, recognizing mental health issues are often below the surface. When we listen, talk and support one another, we truly make a difference.
On behalf of Regional Council, I am pleased to recognize Bell Let’s Talk Day and the important role we all play in raising awareness and reducing the stigma around mental health.
