York Region offers a variety of financial and servicing incentives for development proponents committed to building:
Affordable, purpose-built rental housing This program offers interest-free development charges deferrals to eligible housing units. Qualified proposals may be eligible for servicing allocation from the Region’s purpose-built rental housing reserve.
Large office buildings This is a three year pilot program that offers development charge deferrals for office buildings being constructed in Regional Centres and Corridors. Office buildings may be eligible to defer the full amount of Regional development charges payable for up to 20 years.
