Teston Road closure and construction notice
Newmarket – The Regional Municipality of York is scheduling a road closure of Teston Road between Pine Valley Drive and Weston Road in the City of Vaughan from July 3, 2023 to December 31, 2023.
The road closure is necessary to raise the road and build a new bridge over Purpleville Creek, remove the existing culvert, eliminate the jog at the Teston Road and Pine Valley Drive intersection and install traffic control signals.
With a full closure, the work will be completed as quickly, efficiently and safely as possible. Access to all properties will be maintained.
Improvements to Teston Road include:
- Widening and reconstructing the road from two to four lanes
- Realigning the intersection of Teston Road and Pine Valley Drive and adding new traffic signals
- Raising the road and constructing a new 45-metre span bridge at Purpleville Creek, realigning the creek channel, reinstating the natural habitat of the valley lands and installing a new trail connection under the bridge
- Installing new sidewalks, cycling paths and street lighting on both sides of the road
- Streetscaping and tree planting within the boulevards
As with all road construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions. York Region will provide advance notice when possible.
