York Region’s two long-term care homes, Newmarket Health Centre and Maple Health Centre, are recruiting volunteers who play an important role with providing valuable assistance and services to long-term care residents, their families and staff. 

As a member of the team, you will be part of a stimulating, challenging and rewarding environment while helping residents maintain an active, independent and high quality of life. Whether you want to learn new skills and gain work experience, or develop new friendships and have a sense of purpose, volunteering provides many benefits, such as:

• improving your overall mental health and well-being  
• having a sense of belonging.  

All new volunteers will receive orientation, training, staff support, program choices and flexibility in scheduling. Orientation will include how to maintain a safe environment for everyone in the home, including infection prevention and control education.
