Celebrate Local Food Week with the York Farm Fresh Guide Map
Celebrate Local Food Week with the arrival of the newly updated York Farm Fresh Guide Map.
From June 3 to 9, 2024, we celebrate and recognize the hardworking farmers who keep food on our plates and support healthy communities while also recognizing the important role of food processors, restaurants, retail and others across the local food supply chain. By choosing local, we not only support our local economy but also contribute to a greener and healthier environment.
Local Food Week is celebrated annually, beginning the first Monday in June. Support local when you shop at grocery stores, farmers’ markets and on-farm markets and while you’re ordering online and eating at restaurants.
The York Farm Fresh Guide Map serves as a guide to finding locally grown and produced farm-fresh products across York Region. The guide map features 35 farms and six farmers' markets.
You can access the guide map online, through the mobile app and at member farms and farmers' markets. The app is available in seven languages to support our diverse communities.
As part of the York Farm Fresh experience, the Passport to Fresh contest has returned! Visit as many farms on the guide map as possible and collect virtual stamps by capturing photos at the farms. Each visit brings you closer to winning exciting prizes while discovering new farms, supporting local businesses and celebrating the joy of local food.
Supporting York Farm Fresh is just one of the many ways York Region is committed to growing the agriculture and agri-food sector and helping residents find fresh, local food.
