Meet York Region’s summer student entrepreneurs
The York Small Business Enterprise Centre invites the community to a special showcase where local ambitious students from the Summer Company program will promote their businesses.

Summer Company students participating in the event will be available for onsite interviews about their businesses. Representatives from the York Small Business Enterprise Centre will also be available to answer questions about the program and other services available to local business owners and entrepreneurs.
Background:
- In partnership with the Government of Ontario, the York Small Business Enterprise Centre administers the Summer Company program annually to students between the ages of 15 to 29 and registered to return to school fulltime in September 2024
- In addition to providing training on business planning, finance and marketing, each student is paired with an experienced mentor to provide one-on-one support
- The program also provides students with the opportunity to receive a grant of up to $3,000 to help launch their business
- Interested students applied through the York Small Business Enterprise Centre in early 2024; applications for Summer Company are now closed for this year and will reopen in 2025
- The York Small Business Enterprise Centre serves small businesses in the northern six York Region municipalities: The Towns of Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, King, Newmarket and Whitchurch-Stouffville
