York Region Celebrates All Workers on Labour Day

On behalf of York Regional Council and The Regional Municipality of York, it is my pleasure to wish all York Region residents a happy and safe Labour Day.

Labour Day offers us an opportunity to celebrate the incredible contributions workers make to our communities and economy. It’s also a day to recognize those whose efforts have advanced the rights of workers across York Region, Ontario and Canada.

York Region’s workers are truly the backbone of our economy. From advancing the tech sector and providing essential services to building critical infrastructure and supporting the local food chain, these dedicated individuals help make York Region a strong, caring, safe community for all.

As we mark this Labour Day, Regional Council remains focused on making life better for both people and employers. By working together, we continue to build a robust local economy and maintain fair and equitable workplaces for everyone who calls York Region home.

Today we celebrate every individual whose efforts support and sustain our economy and thank those who ensure workplaces across our communities remain safe.
