York Region hosts Community Safety and Well-Being Plan Celebration event
To mark the third year of implementation of York Region’s Community Safety and Well-Being Plan (Plan), a celebration event was held in the City of Markham on October 26th to acknowledge the collective effort and contributions of residents and community partners in creating positive changes in York Region.
Bringing together more than 130 diverse residents, community agencies and partners, York Regional Police and political representatives, the event featured highlights of collective accomplishments achieved to date under the Plan and recognized the contributions of partners and residents to the Plan’s implementation. Attendees learned about the impact of actions and programs in four focus areas designed to address priority risks, participated in interactive activities, and explored resources that support community safety.
The Plan continues to serve as a key community mobilization initiative that strengthens relationships among residents, community service providers, and government. This celebration reflects York Region’s ongoing commitment to fostering safe, strong, and caring communities through collaboration, innovation, and strong community engagement.
