Notice of Addendum - Northeast Vaughan Water and Waterwater Servicing Environmental Assessment
In 2019, The Regional Municipality of York completed a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) study to establish the preferred solution to provide new water and wastewater infrastructure for anticipated growth in northeast Vaughan.
As a result of the study, York Region identified constructing two elevated water storage tanks, two water pumping stations, watermains associated with the storage tanks and pumping stations, and a new gravity trunk sewer network as the preferred solution. A Notice of Completion for the Northeast Vaughan Water and Wastewater Servicing Class EA study was issued on April 11, 2019.
Amendment to Project File
Following further consultation with affected property owners, the Class EA was amended to move the new pumping station, proposed to be located roughly 450 metres northwest of Jane Street and Teston Road intersection, approximately 75 metres further northwest of the intersection. Environmental and engineering studies determined the overall effects of moving the pumping station to the new location are small but positive and will reduce the property impacts of the original location.
This notice places the Project File Report Addendum on public record for review and comment for 30 calendar days from April 27, 2023, through to May 25, 2023. The Project File Report Addendum is available for public review on york.ca/ea. This notice was issued on April 27, 2023.
We invite you to review the Project File Report Addendum, as it relates to the revised location of the proposed pumping station near Jane Street and Teston Road and direct written comments to:
