Notice of Construction for West Vaughan Sewage Servicing - Highway 27, south of Milani Boulvard
The Regional Municipality of York is building a new 11-kilometre gravity sewer pipe along Rutherford Road, Highway 27, Highway 7, Islington Avenue and Steeles Avenue West in the City of Vaughan to provide sustainable wastewater servicing and accommodate future growth in the west Vaughan communities.
Description
The sewer pipe will be installed by a tunnelling process, requiring the construction of a compound on Highway 27, south of Milani Boulevard
The compound will be enclosed to minimize disruptions, noise and dust; most work will occur underground
Project Duration
- October 2024 to late fall 2029
- Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; overnight and weekend work will happen as needed
Impacts
Access to all businesses will be maintained
There are no planned impacts to water or wastewater services
Pedestrians and cyclist are advised to follow detour signs at Medallion Boulevard and Zenway Boulevard
Due to the nature of work, there will be additional construction vehicles in the area; there will be periodic delays due to the movement of construction vehicles
As with all construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other conditions. York Region will provide advance notice where possible.
