York Region Paramedic Services spreads warmth on Christmas Eve
Newmarket – York Region Paramedic Services is making the holidays brighter for seniors and children in York Region’s four hospitals on Christmas Eve by giving out donated blankets and teddy bears.
Media are invited to join Acting Chief Jeremy Watts and York Region paramedics as they load blankets and teddy bears into ambulances.

Background:
- The Nanny Blanket Drive, initiated in 2008, aims to spread holiday cheer to those hospitalized during the festive season
- Since its inception, over 3,000 blankets have been distributed, bringing warmth and joy to countless patients
- York Region Paramedic Services staff have donated 250 new blankets and has also received a special donation of teddy bears for pediatric patients
- Blankets will be donated to patients at Southlake Health, Oak Valley Health - Markham Stouffville, Mackenzie Health - Richmond Hill and Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital
