This item is Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and can be taken to a HHW depot or community drop off for proper recycling and disposal. All HHW should be in original containers and well-marked. Containers are not returnable. Do not mix products. Residents may drop off up to 60L of HHW and 20 fluorescent tubes per day at York Region HHW Depots.

Garbage can be disposed of for a fee at York Region Community Environmental Centres and the Georgina Waste Transfer Station. Loads larger than 14-foot cube van or unloading with a hydraulic lift are not permitted.

Shredded Paper
Shredded paper can be dropped off in clear plastic bags at a Community Environmental Centre for recycling. Small amounts can be placed in your green bin.

Fireworks/Road Flares
Place all used or unused fireworks and sparklers in a bucket of water. Soak them thoroughly overnight. Drain the water and put the sparklers and fireworks in the garbage.
