Items in good condition can be donated to charity at select donation centres. Acceptance of items is at the discretion of the charity. Damaged items can be recycled as scrap metal at select York Region Waste Facilities.
York Region is partnering with Markham Cycles (https://www.markhamcycles.ca/programs/rtr/) and Newmarket Cycles (https://newmarketcycles.ca/programs/rtr/) to collect used bikes, teach people how to fix them and get them back on the road where they belong. Donate your used bikes at Elgin Mills Community Environmental Centre or McCleary Court Community Environmental Centre.
Curbside collection may also be available. Check with your local municipality for more information.

This item is Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and can be taken to a HHW depot for proper recycling and disposal. All HHW should be in original containers and well-marked. Containers are not returnable. Do not mix products. Residents may drop off up to 60L of HHW and 20 fluorescent tubes per day at York Region HHW Depots.
Paper take-out cups, including coffee cups are challenging to recycle as they are lined with plastic or wax and act as a contaminant in the recycling system. Please place paper take-out cups and lids in the garbage. Consider using a reusable cup or bottle wherever possible.
