Property tax deferral for seniors and persons with disabilities

This is a survey about York Region’s Low-income Seniors and Persons with Disabilities Property Tax Deferral program. It will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.

Do you meet the eligibility criteria for the property tax deferral program?
Eligibility Criteria

Full deferral of annual property tax increase:

  • Own and occupy your home in York Region AND:
    • Are age 65 or older; OR
    • Are a person with a disability eligible to claim a disability amount as defined in the Income Tax Act, 1985

 

Partial deferral of annual property tax increase (deferral of increase above $100):

  • Own and occupy your home in York Region AND:
    • Are 55 to 64 years of age
    • Have annual gross income from all sources of:
      • Up to $23,000 for a single-person household; OR
      • Up to $40,000 for a household of two or more persons
