Field Studies - Mount Albert Water and Wastewater Facilities
York Region will be rehabilitating the Mount Albert groundwater wells facilities, sewage pumping station, and the water resource recovery facility to extend the infrastructure lifespan and increase service capacity. In addition, the Mount Albert South Elevated Tank will be removed.
Duration: December 2024
Prior to this work beginning, we will be conducting multiple field studies and has retained the services of an engineering consultant to conduct the work. All field studies will happen at the facility sites or in the right of way.
Field studies could include:
- Topographical survey
- Inspection of the wells and facilities
- Geotechnical investigation
- Hydrogeological investigations
- Utility surveys
- Inventory of the ground cover, fauna, shrubs and trees
Impacts
- There is no impact to your water or wastewater services
- Each field study can take up to five days to complete
- There may be several field study crews on site collect readings at different times
- A drill rig may be required for the geotechnical borehole drilling and ground water monitoring wells may be installed. Any ground disturbances will be restored to the original condition
- Some work may be re-scheduled due to weather or other conditions
