National Long-Term Care Day: Celebrating the Heart of Long-Term Care
The Canadian Association for Long Term Care (CALTC) is proud to celebrate the inaugural National Long-Term Care Day. On Thursday, June 13, 2024, we acknowledge the contributions and achievements of the long-term care sector, shining a spotlight on the residents and dedicated staff who form the heart of long-term care homes across the country.
National Long-Term Care Day has been established to honor the invaluable role that long-term care homes play in the lives of thousands of Canadians. These homes provide essential services to elderly residents, many of whom require specialized care and support. The day is a testament to the hard work, compassion, and dedication of the staff who provide residents with the highest quality of care.
Today is a time to celebrate the contributions of caregivers and all long-term care staff who work tirelessly to create safe, caring, and supportive environments for our residents.
York Region operates two long-term care homes, Maple Health Centre and Newmarket Health Centre. If you know a staff member or a resident in one of the long-term care homes, feel free to send an e-card with well wishes on this inaugural National Long-Term Care Day!
