Highway 7 from Landsdowne Avenue to Bruce Street
Transportation improvements prepare York Region to meet the needs of motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users today and into the future. York Region is retaining walls on Highway 7 between Landsdowne Avenue to Bruce Street in the City of Vaughan.
Duration: Mid-April, 2025 to early June, 2025

Road improvements:
- York Region is rehabilitating retaining walls on Highway 7 between Landsdowne Avenue to Bruce Street in the City of Vaughan
- Retaining walls are designed to support soil or a slope that may not naturally hold its angle, making the ground more stable and preventing soil erosion
- Repairing a sign pole base at the Highway 7 and Wallace Street intersection
Impacts to travellers:
- Work will occur Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- The road will remain open to through traffic; however, daily temporary lane closures are required:
- Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- A temporary sidewalk and ramps will be installed to maintain pedestrian access when required
- A temporary, short-term sidewalk closure is required to repair the sign pole base and pedestrians will be directed to an alternate route
- Access to homes and businesses will be maintained
As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible.
