Phase One of Northeast Vaughan Water Servicing begins
Description
- Building two new water pumping stations, a new elevated water tank, new 3.2 kilometre watermain and installing new fibre optic cable conduits
- New water infrastructure is needed to provide water service to the northeast Vaughan area
Duration: Summer 2024 to fall 2026
Impacts
Access to all homes and businesses will be maintained. There will be no planned impact to water or wastewater services
As part of the work, York Region is conducting a pre-construction survey to record the existing interior and exterior conditions of the properties and buildings near the work area
The work areas will be enclosed to limit access and any disturbances. Due to the nature of the work, there will be additional construction vehicles in the area. Flag staff and a YRP paid-duty officer will be on-site, as needed
There will be periodic, temporary lane restrictions along Jane Street, Shipwill Street and around the work areas. Temporary signals will be installed at the intersection of Teston Road and Shipwill Street
There will be periodic sidewalk restrictions, temporary sidewalks will be provided; pedestrians are advised to follow directional signs
York Region Transit (YRT) service will continue throughout work. Riders can call the YRT Contact Centre at 1-866-668-3978 or visit yrt.ca for more information
As with all construction projects, some work may be re-scheduled due to weather or other conditions
