Remembrance Day

On Saturday, November 11, 2023, flags at all York Region buildings and facilities will be lowered to half-mast to honour and remember serving and veteran members of the military.

Please take a moment to observe two minutes of silence at 11 a.m. to honour those who fought and continue to fight for our freedom. We encourage you to commemorate Remembrance Day in a way that is meaningful to you. One meaningful gesture to show your support is the Poppy Campaign to support Veterans and their families in our communities directly.

York Region will be honouring veterans and serving members during a virtual staff Remembrance Day Service on Friday, November 10, 2023. Staff are also encouraged to attend a local service on November 11, 2023.
