York Region makes safety a priority during strong winds
York Region is committed to keeping travellers safe and our road networks maintained during storms.
York Region road patrol and dispatch continually monitor our roads and any debris that is impacting safety is prioritized and addressed right away. If debris has blown onto boulevards during windy days, it will be cleaned up as part of the scheduled routine pick-up if it has no impact on traffic.
If traffic signals are not operating due to power loss, travellers are reminded to treat intersections where the signals are not working as a four-way stop.
York Region will continue to provide road updates on X @YorkRegionGovt if there are any impacts.
