York Region Paramedic Services celebrates new recruits

York Region Paramedic Services recently celebrated 26 graduates from the 2023 class and acknowledged five service members promoted to permanent leadership positions. 

The graduation ceremony, hosted Tuesday, April 30, 2024, recognized the efforts and dedication required to provide exceptional patient care to York Region residents. 

Becoming a paramedic requires hard work, focus and the ability to remain calm in physically and mentally demanding situations. Paramedics hired by York Region must undergo an extensive recruitment process and successful candidates come from a variety of backgrounds, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to the service. 

Paramedic Services provides emergency response and community care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year to the Region’s 1.2 million residents.
