Community Housing Supply Grant Pilot Program
York Region's Community Housing Supply Grant Pilot Program provides capital funding to non-profit and cooperative housing organizations that are ready to build new community housing units.
Background
In February 2023, York Region Council approved funding for a non-profit development pilot program to increase the supply of community housing. Increasing affordable housing choices, measured through an increase in the number of community housing units, is a key objective in the Region’s 2023 to 2027 Strategic Plan: From Vision to Results.
Nearly $10.2 million in funding was made available between 2023 and 2024 to eligible proponents in the form of a conditional capital grant.
Upcoming Funding Opportunities
York Region anticipates opening a second call for applications in 2025. Information will be posted here once the call for applications is opened.
