Northeast Vaughan Water and Wastewater Servicing Class Environmental Assessment
The Regional Municipality of York (York Region) has initiated a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) study to identify the water and wastewater infrastructure needed to service anticipated development in northeast Vaughan to the year 2051.
The water service area is located:
- From the King-Vaughan town boundary line to Teston Road, and from west of Kipling Avenue to Keele Street
The wastewater service area is located:
- From the King-Vaughan town boundary line south to Langstaff Road, and from Kipling Avenue to Dufferin Street
Study Process
The Class EA study will be carried out in accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process. As part of this process, York Region will identify water and wastewater needs and opportunities in the service areas, develop and assess alternative solutions for addressing the needs and opportunities leading to preferred servicing solutions, and develop and assess alternative methods for implementing the preferred servicing solutions.
Communications and Consultation – Give Us Your Feedback!
Consultation with government agencies and the public is an important part of the Class EA study and York Region wants to hear from you. Please visit the project website at www.york.ca/waterconstruction or contact York Region directly to let us know what you think are the most important needs and opportunities for water and wastewater infrastructure within the service areas. You can also register by visiting the project website or by contacting York Region directly to receive future project notices including Public Consultation Centres. It is anticipated that the first Public Consultation Centre will be held in spring 2015. Watch for notices in your local newspaper and on the project website.
